K-12 Field Trips

For our K - 1^st experience, we offer two (2) hands-on activity rotations in the Museum and a visit to the Engine House (pending volunteer availability) to view the Roots of Motive Power's collections, time requirement is about 50 minutes.

For our 2^nd - 5^th experience, we offer three (3) hands-on activity rotations in the Museum, time requirement is about 50 minutes.

A visit to the Engine House to see the Roots of Motive Power's collections (pending volunteer availability) and Mendocino County Resource Conservation District (MCRCD) Satellite Station may be included, if 75 minutes (1.25 hrs.) is allotted.

Note: for groups over 40 students, 1.5hrs is required to complete the three (3) rotations in the Museum.

Closer to your field trip date, you will be sent some prepared relevant materials free for you to use at your discretion, before or after your tour.

Adult Tours

Tours can be made for groups of 6 or more, guided adult tours are $7.00 per person. In order to accommodate your group we ask that tour requests be made at least 2 weeks in advance.

Self-Guided Group Visits

Groups that wish to visit the museum for self-guided exploration are welcome anytime during regular hours. No reservation is necessary, but we recommend large groups contact the museum prior their visit. Standard admission rates apply.
