Standing Committees

Standing Committees are permanent, Brown Act Compliant, Committees comprised of two Members of the Board of Supervisors. The full Board of Supervisors makes referrals to the Standing Committees, the Committees meet to discuss the items, and return to the full Board of Supervisors with a recommendation on that referral. Standing Committee assignments are made at the beginning of the year by the Chair of the Board of Supervisors and are approved by the full Board at the Annual Organizational Meeting. More information and the Calendars for all Standing Committees can be accessed on the Board Standing Committee page.

The City Selection Committee (CSC) is a 4 Member Committee comprised of the Mayors of all four cities within Mendocino County (Ukiah, Willits, Fort Bragg, and Point Arena). The CSC typically meets 1-2 times annually for the purposing of making specific appointments to several entities, including the: Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo), Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC),  Sonoma Clean Power Board of Directors, and Redevelopment/Successor Agency Oversight Board.
