Definition
In High Performance Organizations, leadership responsibilities no longer exist in older traditional top-down hierarchies — they exist through networks of well-trained and empowered employees that have the resources to make decisions and execute. This creates a more nimble and agile cultural environment where better decisions are made, with better information, at a faster pace. In High Performance Organizations everyone:
- Exercises leadership
- Contributes to best management practices
- Meets task and technical demands
- Supports their team(s) -- the members and the efforts.
Quotes

- "Great leadership usually starts with a willing heart, a positive attitude, and a desire to make a difference." -Mac Anderson
- "A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader. A great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves." -Eleanor Roosevelt

Overview
Emotional intelligence refers to your ability to manage your emotions, and the emotions of others. In the workplace, this means you’ll need to be able to gauge the emotional needs of your co-workers, and meet them if appropriate. Once you start really investigating emotional intelligence, you’ll be amazed at how much your emotions can affect you and your colleagues at work.
DiSC is a behavioral assessment that helps us better understand ourselves and others to improve our emotional intelligence. Through DiSC, we can better understand what makes us “tick”, what drives us – what gives us energy – and what drains our energy and pulls us down. DiSC clues us in to what situations we may be in that will get us “charged up” – (creating emotional highs) or frustrate us (pulling down our emotional state). This increased self-awareness clues us in to reactions we are having. Only then, can we choose to move from just being aware, to learning how to manage those reactions.
DiSC provides tips and strategies to adapt our approaches as we work with others, in different situations, making us more emotionally intelligent and effective in working with others.

Overview
“Time management” is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between specific activities. We live in a time pressured world where it is common to have multiple overlapping commitments that all require immediate attention now. Urgency is no longer reserved for special occasions, they are an everyday occurrences. Missing deadlines is not the path to advancement or even good job reviews.
Stephen R. Covey popularized the Eisenhower’s Time Management Matrix in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, stating that we live a fourth generation of time management, in which managing time itself is no longer the aim, but managing where to focus at any particular time.
This system makes use of four different quadrants that allow you to prioritize tasks in relation to their importance and urgency, helping you to decide whether you need to address a task immediately or if you can postpone it.

Overview
A culture that fosters creativity and innovation is essential to the long-term success of any high performing organization. Creativity is required to solve complex problems, think strategically, and to innovate. Encouraging creativity and innovation increases team engagement, organization problem solving and productivity, and employee morale. While this may seem obvious, the best approach in building such a culture may not be as apparent. Creativity is often thought of as something you have to be born with. While it’s true that some of us are more creative than others, creativity (like any behavior) is something you can foster and develop and nurture.
