The Mendocino County Museum will be open and FREE for the following events:

Inventor Takeover – July 1, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Join us for an evening of exploration at the Mendocino County Museum!

Building on the concept of our current exhibit, Gadgets Galore, local inventors, brothers Phil and Richard Jergenson, will display their latest work using grid beam. “Grid beam is a modular, reusable building system that is fast, easy, affordable, and virtually goof-proof. Ordinary people, with few skills and even fewer tools (all you need is a wrench!) can tackle projects ranging from furniture and shop benches to more ambitious projects like wind turbines, truck racks, small buildings--even electric vehicles.” - New Society Publishers

Explore the incredible ways grid beam construction can be utilized for temporary housing and micro-transportation! Phil and Richard will display their latest creations: the Funkadoodle Railroad and a modular home Gypsy Wagon in the Museum Courtyard. Come check it out!

Enjoy live music by 2MuchFun! David Pierce and Paul Hailey will be performing Pop Rock songs from the 1960’s and 70’s the Tall Gallery.

You are the featured artist of this event! Enjoy our gadget still life stations throughout the main gallery and create your own drawings (with the help of a few gadgets) using materials provided.
