WIC is a free nutrition program that supports pregnant women, new moms, and families with children under 5 so they can eat well and stay healthy. Families who qualify—those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or recently had a baby; have a child under age 5; have low to medium income; receive Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, or CalFresh benefits; and live in California—may receive an EBT card for healthy foods, breastfeeding support from lactation consultants, and referrals to medical and community services.
