Join us at the Ukiah Library on Saturday July 26 at 11 a.m. for an engaging Storytime event featuring the author of “Gazill Hill,” Claudette Shatto! This multicultural children’s book celebrates courage, perseverance, and positive self-talk. Shatto, an award-winning professor, and author, will share her newest release — the story of young Riley, who learns to face her fears and ride down the daunting Gazill Hill.
This uplifting tale, filled with relatable lessons on bravery and resilience, is perfect for young readers discovering the importance of taking positive risks. After the reading, children will have the chance to participate in a fun, interactive activity inspired by the book’s themes of social-emotional learning (SEL) and growth mindset. Don’t miss this inspiring event that encourages kids to "brave every hill" and celebrate the joy of trying new things.
This event is open to all ages but is geared towards children and is sponsored by the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library and Mendocino County Library.
